Tasks Role Description As a Nix / NixOS Software Engineering Intern at atvari, you will support the design, implementation, and maintenance of Nix-based development and deployment environments. You will assist in writing and refining Nix and NixOS configurations, automating build and deployment workflows, and integrating Nix with existing software projects. Day-to-day tasks include collaborating with engineers on backend services, troubleshooting environment and dependency issues, and documenting configuration and tooling. This is a fully remote internship, where you will work closely with the engineering team and gain hands-on experience with Rust, Nix, and cloud-native practices. Internship Details This is an unpaid internship for the duration of 1-3 months based on your needs. It is either offered as a voluntary internship (Freiwilliges Praktikum) or a mandatory internship (Pflichtpraktikum) and it is only available to German residents. You are eligible if one of these conditions apply to you: • you do not have a completed apprenticeship or university degree (Freiwilliges Praktikum) • you need a mandatory internship as part of a degree program (Pflichtpraktikum) Requirements • Strong foundational knowledge in Computer Science, including algorithms, data structures, and operating systems. • Exposure to Software Development and Programming, with experience in at least one high-level language (Rust experience is a plus). • Understanding of Back-End Web Development
