How listings are sourced, written and kept accurate ยท Last updated: November 2026

1. Finding opportunities

New opportunities come in every day from official sources (universities, foundations, governments, employers) and from other public opportunity sites. A listing found on another site is a lead, not a source: we look for the opportunity's official page and use that instead.

2. Checking the official page

Before we link to an official page, we confirm it describes the same opportunity: the page must load and mention the opportunity's name or its organisation. If we can't confirm an official page, the listing still shows, but it is clearly marked with where it came from.

3. How summaries are written, and our use of AI

Each summary (overview, eligibility, benefits, how to apply, deadline and funding) is drafted by an AI model from the text of the official page. It is instructed to state only facts found on that page and to leave a field empty rather than guess. Summaries are generated automatically and are not individually reviewed by a person before they appear, which is why every listing links to the official page and shows when it was last checked.

The AI writing tools in your account (cover letters, statements and similar) are clearly labelled as AI drafts for you to edit.

4. Keeping listings current

Links are re-checked every day. When an official page disappears, a deadline passes or a posting is filled, the listing is marked Closed and removed from search results and feeds. Job listings without a deadline are closed automatically after 45 days.

5. Independence

Organisations cannot pay to be listed or to rank higher. Where we have a partnership, such as our referral arrangement with Optimum Global Links for UK university admissions, we say so on the page where it appears.

6. Reporting a mistake

If a listing is wrong, out of date or looks like a scam, email hello@applyworth.com with the link. We correct or remove it. We will never ask you to pay to apply for an opportunity, and you should treat anyone who does with suspicion.
